Rebecca Augustine was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Learning violin at the age of three, she has been active in music most of her life.  Becca joined her church’s adult choir at the age of ten and performed both soprano and alto solos throughout her choir career.  She has performed with The Augustine Family Band, a traditional folk band made up entirely of her own family members, playing most leads on violin and hammered dulcimer and singing lead and harmony on two albums, First Time Around and Family Time. During her late middle school/early high school years, Becca studied voice with vocal coach Melissa Williams and violin with Barbara Sherman.  She has performed with various artists around the Upper Peninsula, such as Todd VanDyke Overbeek, Bill Kautto, Bonnie Cotter, and Chad Borgen.  She has also had the opportunity to play many times at the Rosza Center for the Performing Arts in Houghton, Michigan, and even sing the national anthem in the historic Calumet Theatre in Calumet, Michigan.

Becca moved to St Paul, Minnesota, to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with a minor in Vocal Performance at McNally Smith College of Music.  She studied and performed with the virtuosic jazz violinist Randy Sabien, as well as with well-known vocalists Rachel Holder, Erin Schwab, and Jennifer Parker.  While living in the Twin Cities, Becca performed at venues including The Minnesota Music Café, The Townhouse, The History Theater, and Amsterdam Bar and Hall  Becca was also violinist and vocalist in world/rock band The Human Empire, Irish bar quartet Devouring Maidens, and the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble.

To pursue her career in music further, she packed everything up and moved to Music City (Nashville, TN).  There she has focused her musical growth on songwriting, performing for local singer-songwriter nights at Bobby's Idle Hour and Belcourt Taps.  She released her debut record entitled The Leap EP, which showcases her triple threat talent while telling her own personal story and journey in life so far. Now, Becca is touring the world with known Nashville based band, Mustang Sally, putting her fiddle and vocal skills to use on the big stage.
